Radio frequency electromagnetic fields (EMF's) emitted by mobile telephones cause an increase in blood pressure, concludes a new study conducted by Dr. S. Braune and his colleagues of the University Neurology Clinic in Freiburg, Germany and published in the British Medical Journal, Lancet (8-26-98)
Dr. Braune found a significant elevation in both systolic and diastolic blood pressures after exposure to EMF's compared with the unexposed session. They concluded that the increase in blood pressure resulted from constriction of the arteries caused by the radio-frequency electromagnetic fields and that such an increase could have adverse effects on people with high blood pressure.
